ahhh I feel the same way!! I love the reframing of routine as "rituals" instead. I've found that having some things set in stone each day and some things spontaneous/flexible works best for me! I also like the idea of the "menus" I've seen people making for their morning and night routines
Last school year I woke up 5 am every single day and did my ✨perfect✨ morning routine. This year I was suffocating under the pressure to be the same. Don’t get me wrong I loved my routine and I even learned from it. But the pressure to be the same pushed me into a slump. The post is amazing it really captured my feelings☺️
I think the beauty of a routine is that you make it. To hope you have enough trust in yourself to do what you need to do is what many people bank on....until they are so consumed with everyone else's routine that they lose focus on why they have a routine. You hit it right on the nail.
you perfectly put into words what i’ve been feeling for a couple of weeks now!!!
I am so happy this resonated!! Thank you for reading x

this reminded me of the Maybe Baby piece on routines that I loved, too. I think you'd enjoy it! https://haleynahman.substack.com/p/179-beyond-routines

Great read!
The hold that Bethany Mota had on my life was INSANE back then
this is so so true!! wellness is all about finding what works FOR US. totally relatable as a recovering routine addict myself haha!
Exactly! In this world of customisation, we forgot to tailor our lives according to our needs and wants!
Thank you Ruby!
